The Story
The Aït Atta still herd their flocks across the same passes their grandfathers used. We sleep in goat-hair tents, drink boiled tea with shepherds, and listen to oral histories older than any printed Moroccan book.
History
The Aït Atta confederation — 'sons of Atta' — was formed in the 16th century and once mustered 50,000 warriors. They never submitted to the French until 1933.
